“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are most consistent, even if they are small.”
— Sahih Bukhari

Being caring and compassionate toward others lies at the heart of Islam. The Qur’an repeatedly reminds us to feed the poor, support orphans, help travellers, and spend in the way of Allah — emphasizing that generosity is essential to faith.

The Prophet Muhammad (ï·º) said:

“You will not believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself.”

“The believers are like one body; when one part suffers, the whole body feels the pain.”

True faith inspires us to ease the suffering of others. Giving in charity not only helps those in need but also purifies our hearts, reminding us that every blessing comes from Allah (SWT). We are warned not to spoil our charity with pride or reminders of our giving:

“Do not cancel out your charitable deeds with reminders and hurtful words.” (Qur’an 2:264)

Charity is a duty, not a choice — for Allah says there is a “recognised right for the needy and deprived” in our wealth (70:24–25). Those who neglect orphans and the poor are described as those who “reject the faith” (107:1–3).

Whether in prosperity or hardship, a Muslim gives sincerely, trusting that Allah multiplies every good deed:

“Those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah are like a grain that grows seven ears, each bearing a hundred grains.” (Qur’an 2:261)

With Zakat — one of Islam’s five pillars — and ongoing Sadaqah, giving is not just generosity; it is faith in action.
